Flintoff and Pieterson beat Dhoni

England players Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff today became the most expensive players of the Indian Premier League after being sold for a whopping USD 1.55 million. During the IPL first edition, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the most expensive player. Pieterson was bought by Bangalore Royal Challengers and Flintoff was bought by Chennai Super Kings. Kevin Pieterson was the captain of England team till recently while Flintoff was the former captain of England team.
Bangladesh paceman Mashrafe Mortaza went for 12 times his base price of USD 50,000. For close to an hour the bidding war was going on between King XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders, then the Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a whopping USD 600,000.
